This is the final teaching software list for 2016/17 academic year. Only new software and new versions of currently installed windows software are on this list – the list of Mac software will be published separately. This list has been compiled from software approved via the IT expenditure board and through the faculty teaching software request process.
Some of this year’s software will be delivered to staff and students by a new piece of technology known as Application Jukebox which allows us to make a greater range of software available in more locations. Some software will still be installed and accessible in the traditional way. Instructions about how to run software using Application Jukebox will be sent to you shortly.
Don’t forget that we need to remove Quicktime Player from the new Managed Desktop because of its insecurities with the Windows application but Quicktime will be available through Application Jukebox – files won’t play automatically though, the application must be launched and the files selected manually.
