When engaging a Consultant please use the table below when discussing day rates.

| 0-4 Weeks | Consultant’s Proposed Day Rate |
| 4 Weeks – 3 Months | Consultant’s Proposed Day Rate – 10% |
| 3 – 6 Months | Consultant’s Proposed Day Rate – 20% |
When engaging a consultant over a 3 or 6 month period we are offering considerable security to that individual and it is fair and reasonable to expect a slight reduction in return.
The framework above is decremented so that, over longer periods of time the University is able to make a saving by paying slightly less per day. It can be pasted into a standard presented to us by a Consultant, or pasted into your own contract before sending to him/her to sign.
This is optional and not meant to make it difficult for you to find the right consultant, but if used it can save significant money for SHU. For more information please take a look at this working example.
