Local Government Pension Scheme changes – April 2014

The Local Government Pension Scheme is changing and the new scheme will be in operation from 1 April 2014 when the majority of members will move from the current final salary scheme to a career average scheme.

Final salary benefits will be protected for all members up to 31 March 2014.

Members will already have been notified of these changes by the South Yorkshire Pension Authority.
