The Creating Knowledge Board is investing in a new publication management system “Elements”. In the new academic year, you will no longer need to use SHURA to deposit your work. Instead you will use “Elements”.
“Elements” is the new and easy way to deposit your publications. “Elements” will pass them on to other systems, including SHURA, your staff profile on the external website, and Academ (if you are in Sheffield Business School).
Whenever you have a new piece of work accepted for publication you will only need to deposit your manuscript once into just one system. You will only need to give a very minimal amount of information when you do so. Elements will therefore save you time compared to current arrangements.
Elements is very easy to use and it will also automatically find your work in databases such as Scopus and the Web of Science and ask you via email to “claim” it as yours.
Finally, the new system will send a perfectly ordered and formatted list of your publications to your staff profile on the external website. It will even allow you to choose which publications should be displayed!
The system will be piloted during Summer by a small group of academic staff from each of the four faculties.
We will switch from SHURA to Elements on Monday 15 October 2018.
Please get in touch with Eddy Verbaan Head of Library Research Support for more information, or if you are interested in taking part in the Elements pilot.
