The Technology Enhanced Learning team has been working with staff across the university to develop resources to assist academic staff in identifying alternative teaching approaches and technologies suitable to their discipline. One of these resources is a framework or ‘menu’ designed to assist colleagues in identifying different teaching approaches and the technologies that can support and enhance those approaches. This ‘menu’ can be used to support both individual modules and entire courses, and aligns with the University’s process for the design and approval of its courses.
The ‘menu’ covers a number of approaches around the areas of independent learning, work-related learning, information-focussed learning, and peer-learning. The benefits of using each approach are listed, along with indicative assessment types, technologies that can enhance them and the benefits of using that technology, as well as links to further information, specific examples and case studies. You can request a workshop for your department or subject group to support this process.
Dear Sir/madam
You menu looks really interesting and I wondered if you would mind sharing it at all?
Regards
Gillian
Hi Gillian,
Thanks for your comment. The menu can be accessed at: http://elearningatshu.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/cll_menu_full_version05.pdf
Please note that you might not be able to access all the case studies from the ‘menu’ itself, though most can be found by searching this blog if you are interested.
