With John Lee and Kieran Macdonald
Thursday 7th June 2012, 12 noon till 1 pm
Main Building D001, Collegiate Campus
This session will cover two examples of mobile innovation:
Supporting Communication and Collaboration for the WWW Mobile Generation (Education where-ever, what-ever and when-ever they want?)
Undergraduate and postgraduate students in Design Technology Education are working on self-directed projects. They use an external application to manage email communication with peers and tutors for formative feedback and support in a way that can’t currently be supported by Blackboard. They engage with peers in informal time and timely notifications are important for real-time responses at critical design moments.
Mobile Learning – exploring the potential of QR codes in HE
Exploring a number of applications of QR codes to provide access to learning resources irrespective of timeframes and geographical constraints. E.g. linking to instructional videos at the point of use, providing additional information such as videos tutorials and blogs, and differentiated learning pathways.
Please book so that we can inform you if there are any changes to the session.
For further ideas about mobile learning, keep an eye out for additional forthcoming sessions, and see other relevant articles on this blog.
