In March we announced that we are transitioning the Blackboard online submission tool from SHU Assignments to the default Blackboard Assignments during this summer.

To ensure continuity in the student experience where possible, we recommend that:

• assignments with submission deadlines in May use SHU Assignments
• assignments with submission deadlines in June or later use Blackboard Assignments

However, students will still be able to submit to any SHU assignments already set up with submission dates of June or later.

Both assignment types will be available for you to add to your sites from 3 May to 28 May.  After 28 May you will not be able to create new SHU Assignments, although students can still submit to SHU assignments that have already been set up.  To help you set up the correct assignment type while both types are available, the Blackboard Assignment tool will temporarily be renamed Blackboard Assignment (submission after May 2012).  After 28 May it will be renamed Assignment.
