*** Blackboard: Archiving of 2008/9 Sites ***

Blackboard sites from 2008/9 will be archived/deleted on Friday 18th September 2009. Archived sites will be retained on the system for 1 year after archive, which means that although you will not be able to access them, they can be retrieved in case of any query or appeal during that year. Organisation sites are not retained on the system.

You can check whether your site will be archived/deleted by selecting the “Blackboard tools” link on My SHU, then “Check/update sites”. If your site shows an archive or deletion date of September 2009, and it will be needed after Friday 18th September (for instance, a module that continues until December), please update the archive/deletion date information by clicking on the Modify button. It may take some time for these changes to be reflected on Blackboard, as they are not processed immediately.

*** Blackboard Sites for 2009/0 ***

Blackboard sites which will be used in 2009/0 have been copied ready for use with new groups of students. If you need a new site, or you were enrolled on a site in 2008/9, but are unable to see a 2009/0 version, you should request a new site by selecting the “Blackboard tools” link on My SHU, then “New site/copy existing site”. If you will be using a site with a new cohort of students in 2009/0 you need a new copy of the site – you cannot continue to use the 2009/0 site.
