Suitability Declaration

Sheffield Hallam University operates within professional, statutory, and regulatory frameworks. We have a responsibility to assess the risk posed by applicants who have a criminal record, or previous disciplinary or safeguarding concerns raised about them.

You are required to complete a Suitability Declaration which is separate from your DBS check but will be matched against it. The University will consider any positive declarations and you may be required to attend an interview to consider your initial suitability for Teacher Training.

Please read the guidance provided at the start of the online declaration form and answer the questions carefully. If you are unsure whether or not to include something, then our advice would be to declare it.
