Do you have the time to help save a life?

Calling all staff – Do you have the time to help save a life?

The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing has partnered with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to deliver the University of Lifesavers project. This important and innovative project seeks to equip students and staff across the university with the skills to potentially save a life.

The project is led by a group of 30 student volunteers from within the faculty trained to deliver Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), utilising the BHF Call, Push, and Rescue kit. They are holding sessions to enable participants to gain the knowledge and confidence needed to provide CPR support.

There are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year. Without help, the person will die within minutes, but effective and immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) can help double the chance of survival in some cases.

The BHF is committed to improving survival rates and has launched its Nation of Lifesavers campaign to train 5 million people in CPR skills by 2020. Together we can make a positive difference across the UK.

There will be a number of sessions provided throughout the year. Our next sessions will be:

Tuesday 21st May in HC 0.32

11-11:45
12-12:45
