Don’t write off that 10,000 steps a day goal

Research by Rob Copeland, Professor of Physical Activity and Health at The Centre for Sport & Exercise Science, Sheffield Hallam University is featured in an article for wearable.com that addresses the benefits of wearable technology to encourage active lifestyles. In light of Google’s recent overhaul to its’ Fit health and fitness platform, the author explores the move by wearable technology companies to track short spurts of exercise via move minutes, Heart Points or closing rings instead of step counts.
