Join us on a walk to the beautiful Botanical Gardens which is near our Collegiate Campus. Come with us and find out why Sheffield is the greenest city in the UK while taking in this sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

We will also walk down the famous Ecclesall Road – an area which is extremely popular with our students – with its many restaurants, bars and independent shops.

Meet our student crew at the main University entrance at 10am on Sunday 3 July (our trip will finish at approximately 2pm) – there is no charge for this event.

Sheffield is famous for climbing, so why not get involved in a four-week course, with instructors on hand to help you every step of the way?

We will be holding these sessions at the Foundry Climbing Centre, which is a top class training facility and a fun and friendly environment for people new to the sport of climbing.

These sessions are free of charge, and the first will be on Thursday 7 July at 5.30-8pm, then repeated at the following times and dates: 3.30pm on 10 July, 6.30pm on 21 July and 3.30pm on 30 July.

A community festival which celebrates the talents and diversity of the area, including sport activities and performances from talented local people.

The Sharrow Festival comprises of the Festival Day in the Park – a full day of activity in Mount Pleasant Park held on the first Saturday in July – and the Festival Fringe, which is a host of community activities in Sharrow in the weeks either side of the Day in the Park.

The festival is a flagship event in Sharrow which celebrates the culture and diversity of the area, providing opportunites for thousands of local people to experience a wonderful day in Mount Pleasant Park.

Admission to the festival is free of charge and is open from 12-8pm.

Refugee Week takes place every year across the world in the week around World Refugee Day on the 20 June. In the UK, Refugee Week is a nationwide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities.

To celebrate, Sheffield will have a variety of events and performances across the city – a majority of which are free or pay what you decide – from artists who have refugee background and links.

There is the Migration Matters Festival which is being held at Theatre Delicatessen on the Moor, which will feature established companies, emerging artists, community arts groups and charitable organisations. Join us for a trip to Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, the biggest football club in the world.

Imagine yourself as Jose Mourinho in the dugout, visit the trophy room and sit by the peg of your favourite player in the dressing room.

After the tour, we will head to Manchester city centre with its wide range of shops and leisure attractions.
