Hong Kong students visit the Sheffield Business School

In June 2016 SBS were delighted to host a group of 24 students and two staff from Hong Kong on a week-long study and cultural visit.

The students had just completed their Business Higher Diplomas with the Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) which is part of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in Hong Kong. SBS has a ten year collaboration with SHAPE, also part of VTC, and many IVE students progress to SHU top up awards in Hong Kong.

The students enjoyed a mix of educational, professional, cultural activities as well as having free time to enjoy local food, shopping and make new friends.

They joined students in classes in SBS and met with current SBS students to discuss the differences in teaching and learning experiences. They visited Chatsworth House where a talk on Chatsworth as a business was provided. The students provided Instagram presentations on their final day to reflect on their visit, which was nicely rounded off with a  British favourite – fish and chips!

SHU hope to deliver more events such as this in future years to give this opportunity to more VTC students and strengthen our collaboration.
