As part of our continual maintenance and improvement of the estate, we will be replacing a number of fire doors across City Campus. This work is planned to take place from May to July.
The buildings affected by the works are;
Owen and Cantor Building
Over this bank holiday weekend (4 – 6 May), there will be some maintenance work on the fire escape doors located on the North and South stairwell of Owen Building. Similar works will take place in the Cantor Building over the next couple of weeks. This will be carried out to assess the condition of the structure behind the door frames and to take measurements for new door sets.
The new doors and frames will be replaced in both buildings over a period of night shifts throughout July. We will aim to conduct the works with minimal impact to adjacent areas.
Harmer Building
In June and July we will be conducting a number of works in Harmer Building to improve the fire barriers within the service riser doors in the building. In order to minimise disruptions to occupants, these works will be conducted out-of-hours.
You may notice that the replacement doors are of a different design to the existing doors. This is part of a phased roll-out in which other doors will be replaced for the same design in later phases.
