Two of the University’s most recent projects have been nominated as ‘best building’ in the Sheffield Design Awards 2016, in a shortlist of 12.

Charles Street – which opened in April 2016 as the home of the Sheffield Institute of Education – and our Sheffield Institute of Arts (formerly the Head Post Office) have been shortlisted as ‘best building’ in this year’s awards. Both buildings are also up for the People’s Choice awards, where the winner will be decided by public vote. You can vote at this link.

Both buildings were featured in today’s Star newspaper (14 September) as part of a feature on the 12 buildings vying for the awards. You can view the feature here.

Charles Street has also been shortlisted for ‘Project of the year over £5m’ in the (CCISY) Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards.

The Sheffield Design Awards will be held on 26 October 2016 at the Sheffield Institute of Arts.
