Hallam Deal update – payroll giving and discounted rail travel

The Hallam Deal was launched in November 2017 as part of the Building a Great University pillar and is guided by the goal of creating an outstanding environment in which to study, research and work.

Give from your salary to any UK charity

We offer a payroll giving scheme which is a simple, tax efficient and secure way to give to any UK charity straight from your monthly pay. Your donation costs you less, allowing you to give more to the charity of your choice – making a real difference.

Payroll Giving deductions are made to your gross pay before your tax is calculated. This means any tax that would have been due on this money isn’t taken, but is instead sent on to your chosen charity. For example, if you pay basic rate tax (20%), a £10 monthly donation would cost you £8 per month.

For more information or to set up your donation please visit our  Payroll Giving pages. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up – you just need your staff ID to hand.

Not sure which charity to choose?

Sheffield Hallam University is a charity. In 2016 the Hallam Fund was established to provide additional and much needed support to our student and research community so they can overcome barriers, access the best opportunities and take on some of society’s greatest issues.
