In just under 4 weeks a team of 25 staff will be taking on the Sheffield Half Marathon, and they need your support!
Taking part is no mean feat; the course is continuously uphill for 5.5 miles, which even if you’re used to running the hills of Sheffield, takes grit and effort. So why are Team Hallam putting themselves through this experience? For the students who are helped by the Hallam Fund.
Funds raised from this event in 2017 helped launch the Estranged Student Transition Fund which supports students who have no relationship with their parents, settle into life at Sheffield Hallam. Josie (who has been estranged from her family since she was 14) accessed the fund and had help to move to Sheffield to start her course. Unfortunately last year demand from students to access the funding outweighed the money available. So we are thrilled to announce that this year your donations to Team Hallam will be directed to the Estranged Student Transition Fund and help even more students who are not in contact with their parents.
Fundraising efforts are underway but in order to hit the £5k target the team need the support of their friends and colleagues. To make either a donation to the wider team, or to choose an individual runner you would like to support please donate here.
Thank you to our runners and their supporters. If you want to cheer the team on from the side-lines head to the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 8th April.
