Crate Amnesty – 650 unused crates across the University

Potentially unused crates are incurring significant costs for the university. Please see the information below from Estates and contact them if you know of any crates not in use.

Estates are holding a crate amnesty across both campuses over the next month.

The University has now reached a point whereby there are over 650 outstanding crates which equates to a potential cost of £10,000 per year.

Incurring such significant financial penalties may have implications on the delivery of future projects and puts an ongoing strain on Faculty and Department budgets.

If you have, or know of, any crates that are no longer in use, please email ! Estates Crate Requests with locations, amount of crates and note if there are any access restrictions.  We will then arrange a collection with the crate hire company and deduct the crate cost from the appropriate Faculty/Department records.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact Estates Admin on Ext 4070.

Many thanks for your co-operation in this matter.
