New UAPC course available for staff supporting student learning

Application is now open for a new course derived from the PgCert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, but open to wider range of university staff.

Details about the course in general can be found here including information and advice on applications. Below are the details of the 2018 course and towards the bottom you will find useful contact details and application info.

The course is a University Advanced Professional Certificate (UAPC) in Higher Education Practice – a 30 credit level 7 module based on the first module of the PgCert LTHE, and leading to AFHEA status.

The course will run at City Campus and will start in July 2018 and finish in November 2018. It’s aimed at staff who support student learning as part of their role, such as technicians, library staff, student support, or careers advisors. The course aims to develop an evidence based, reflective and critical approach to the support of students and student learning in higher education. It leads to Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA status) via the University’s framework for continuing professional development (TALENT), and it is led by staff from the Sheffield Institute of Education with guest speakers from across the wider institution.
