Over Summer, DTS has been working on providing the IT equipment and software required for teaching and learning in the new academic year. There are some issues about licensing and provision of a few items of software and work on some AV installations which are being discussed with the relevant teaching staff. Apart from these, everything is on track to be delivered for the start of the academic year. (See our infographic on facts and figures about the investment the University has made in IT to support teaching and learning this year).
Our start of year drop in sessions will continue until 5 October so that academics can ask questions and receive advice from senior DTS staff about any issues they have discovered in testing.
We are receiving an exceptionally high number of requests for hardware and software at the moment. Please bear with us while we prioritise fulfilling teaching requirements for this academic year. We will be contacting staff who have made other requests either through the IT Expenditure Board (ITEB) or different routes to find out more about their needs which will be assessed during October.
