Exploring the history of Collegiate Campus

Members of the public, staff and students can learn more about the hidden history of Collegiate Campus as part of this year’s Heritage Open Days, England’s largest grass roots heritage festival, organised by English Heritage.

The estates development and sustainability team are once again supporting Heritage Open Days, which every September sees around 40,000 volunteers across England host 5,000 free events giving people the chance to explore new and possibly unknown places. For this year’s event, the estates team are leading a series of exclusive walking tours of the Collegiate Campus grounds which will explore the last 200 years of activity on the site from exclusive boys’ school to modern University, from wartime hospital to a leading provider of nursing education.

The 45-minute tours are being held on Thursday 7 September and are open to everyone, including members of the public. Booking is required and free places can be reserved.
