Saturday 5 August, 11am-4pm
Join us at Weston Park as we celebrate the opening of Small Stories: At Home in a Dolls’ House with a fun-packed day of free creative activities inspired by the exhibition.
Small Stories will take visitors to Weston Park Museum on a journey through the history of the home through 12 intricately crafted dolls’ houses spanning over 300 years.
Marriages, parties, politics and crime play out in country mansions, suburban villas, newly-built council estates and high-rise apartments, as each house is brought to life by the characters that live and work there through a series of interactive displays. There will also be a host of family activities inspired by life in miniature including:
- Imagine what it’s like to be doll-sized with our giant board games
- Make a building to add to our junk mini-city
- Create your own small stories and pint-size people in our creative sessions
- See our origami expert make buildings and fantastic furniture in interactive demos
- Face painting
- Museum trails
- And more!
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. No need to book, just turn up.
