As part of its modernisation programme to improve efficiency and reduce running costs, Digital Technology Services is moving one of its on-site data centres. This major work is happening now and will continue until the end of June. Equipment moves will take place outside core working hours where possible to minimise disruption but there will be some pieces of work which will affect the University’s IT services.
Between 6pm on Friday 16 June and 8pm Sunday 18 June there will be some periods when IT services are at risk as equipment is relocated. There are no planned outages for any of the major systems but to keep your files safe, please make sure you save your work frequently and make preparations so you are not entirely dependent on IT services during this time.
Please bear in mind that this work might affect the turnaround time of service requests as we manage the impact of this work on University business.
