New version of Outlook email – logging in to view calendars

Digital Technology Services (DTS) staff have begun piloting the new version of Outlook (in Office 365) which will be rolled out to University staff.  While the rollout is happening, users who are still on the old version of Outlook may sometimes need to login a second time to view the calendars of those who have already moved to Outlook 365.

Please bear with us if you find that a log in box pops up when you try to access the calendar of a DTS member of staff. Once the migration is complete and everyone is using Office 365 for email, the issue will no longer occur.

DTS are currently testing for issues and compiling information to help other users when they move across.  The rollout to the rest of the University will happen in stages and soon all staff will be using the new version of Outlook. This will give individuals considerably larger mailbox space as well as easier access from mobile devices. It also offers cost savings for the University. DTS will have support available when you move across to make sure everything happens smoothly.

If you have any questions about this, or need any advice about the move, please contact Jenny Kennedy x6579.
