Dan Porter, Head of Sports Services will be undergoing cancer treatment in Heidelberg, Germany from next week onwards. The Dan Porter Heidelberg Appeal has been set up to support Dan with all non-medical costs associated with the treatment. Once the treatment is complete, any money left over from the appeal will be transferred into the Danny Porter Foundation which has raised over £90,000 to support other local cancer and neurocare charities over the last ten years.
With this in mind and linked to the forthcoming ‘Walk to Work Week’ taking place from 11- 15 May, we are encouraging colleagues to try and walk as much as possible during this period. For every extra mile that’s walked during this week we are asking for staff to donate £1 per mile – there will be donation buckets placed at the Gym receptions (city and Pearson) and at 1 Furnival Square reception.
