Personal IT Security

Remember to log off or lock a PC when unattended, so that other people can’t use your email, network accounts and network drives.  Don’t share your login details with other people, or on social media sites.

‘Shoulder surfing’ is where people can collect information such as passwords and PIN numbers, by reading the screen over your shoulder, or watching you type. This information can be used to steal your identity and access your personal and University accounts, and possibly access your email and other sensitive information.

Protect sensitive and personal information about your friends and colleagues as you would your own.
