Work in Norfolk and Harmer buildings

Work will start from 15 December and continue until the end of April 2015 to create new homes for the Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI) and Maths, as well as high quality pool teaching and PC space across Norfolk and Harmer buildings.

As part of this Level 2 of Harmer Building will open up into the Atrium to provide more social learning space in line with student feedback. This involves closing what is currently 2203 (Harmer) as this will become part of the Atrium. Therefore, all activity currently timetabled to take place in this PC lab will be moved to Norfolk 504 where a brand new PC lab has been created. Teaching will also be moved from surrounding rooms after Christmas, before major work begins, and further communication will follow to those using the rooms affected.

The Facilities Directorate will be in touch with individual stakeholders about how the work will affect them, but wanted to make wider staff aware that this work is now taking place. The new facilities will be a great addition to the University offer and will improve both the staff and student work and learning environment.
