Mental health in the workplace – training events

Line managers at Sheffield Hallam are invited to join one of a series of skills training events in 2015 organised by the city council dealing with mental health in the workplace.

The first session takes place on January 30 at Moorfoot. followed by one on March 5, May 21, September 10 and October 22.

Sessions will also be held at Fulwood House on July 10 and December 15. They will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm on each day.

The training aims to promote mental health wellbeing in the workplace by taking an holistic approach to managing an employee; to recognise stress, distress and mental health conditions in the workplace at an early stage; to develop practical strategies to help staff who experience mental health problems to retain their employment; to consider how to maintain or regain good mental health themselves, including strategies to help cope with stress at work.
