On Friday 18 April (Good Friday) and Saturday 19 April, IS&T teams will be making improvements to the University’s network. Although we have made every effort to minimise the impact of these changes, there is still a small risk that the work could disrupt the University’s wired, wireless and internet services for short periods on these days. For this reason, it’s particularly important for staff and students using network services on or off campus to save their work regularly during this time.

This work is part of a major project and a significant investment by the University (a capital spend of over £4 million over the next 3 years) to upgrade the network infrastructure. This is to ensure the network can provide the capacity and performance needed to meet predicted growth and support the new technologies we expect to use over the next seven years.
