Be inspired by the Grand Départ coming to Yorkshire and share a local bike journey that means something special to you. Whether it’s a beautiful ride through the Pennines at sunset or a grim 7am commute in the driving rain, we want to hear your most memorable two-wheeled moments.
We will use your memories to create an exciting piece of live theatre, as well as selecting around six journeys to explore in more detail as a series of bespoke audio dramas, designed to last the exact duration of each ride.
These stories will be scripted by local writer Chris Bush, recorded by Sheffield Hallam students and released as podcasts. We’ll also provide a map of the cycle route and some information about the inspiration for each recording, so others can recreate the journey. Your stories will also form the basis of an original theatre piece, performed by Sheffield Hallam students in a public space as the Grand Départ comes to Yorkshire.
