The University, in partnership with Sheffield City Council and key stakeholders from the Cultural Industries Quarter, is embarking on a project to revitalise the area adjacent to the HUBS Students’ Union building. This future space will provide a much needed outdoor area for the University, local businesses, galleries, the Students’ Union and the wider community of the Cultural Industries Quarter.
We aim to provide:
- an improved aesthetic environment
- functional space suitable for performances and events
- a flexible outdoor space that can be used in different ways by different stakeholders
- more usable space for meeting colleagues and friends
The University is committed to engaging all stakeholders, as part of our consultation we will be displaying our plans on boards in three areas: the Students’ union, the Workstation and in the main reception at city campus from Friday 7 February. Construction will begin in late Summer 2014 with completion scheduled for the end of the year.
