Delivery dashboard
The Board received the proposed delivery dashboard and provided positive feedback.The dashboard will be refined over the summer.
HR People Plan
Following a presentation made to the Building a Great University Board in April, further detail was provided on the programme of work to be delivered over the next 18 months to help deliver our strategic objectives. The Board endorsed the five proposed objectives and agreed that a final version would be presented to ULT in early September with a view to sharing with staff after that.
PSOM – update
Libby Wilson, PSOM Project Director, presented an update and advised that the outcomes of the design phase will be presented at the end of July. Consultation and options evaluation will take place over the summer with a view to the recommended option being presented at the next Board meeting in a business case, together with a sequenced implementation plan. The latest project updates can be found on the PSOM intranet page.
Web Strategy
The Board received an overview of the Web Strategy and roadmap detailing long and short-term activities to ensure that the University delivers excellent user experiences across the University’s web presence (three domains: external site, shuspace and the intranet, as well as WordPress sites and research, academic and teaching@shu.ac.uk sites). The Strategy and Roadmap will be circulated to management teams within faculties and directorates and work will continue to be delivered as per the roadmap.
Policy development, dissemination and review protocol
Martin Conway, University Secretary, provided the Board with an overview of the aims and outputs from a project to review and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the process for the development, dissemination and review of University policies. He proposed a draft protocol and process maps, and recommended a series of actions to facilitate the implementation of the protocol across the University – all of which were approved.
Marketing plan
Justin Cole, Director of Marketing, presented an overview of how the Marketing Directorate will deliver effective marketing initiatives in 2017/18 in support of the University Strategy. A number of observations were made which included the need for specific plans for each faculty and professional services to be made available. An update will be presented at the next meeting in September.
