The University is currently investigating using vWorkspace to access a number of resources for teaching & learning, productivity and application development and testing.
Services that are currently use vWorkspace or that are under evaluation include:
- Teaching SAS within ACES
- Teaching the SQL Database Administration module within ACES
- Staff Remote Desktop 2013
- Testing corporate applications with MD7 and IE10 within Corporate Systems
- Testing corporate applications with MD7 and Java 1.7 within Corporate Systems
- Testing new version of Raisers Edge within SHU
- VDI desktops for IS&T staff to package applications with Application Jukebox
- Access to personal VDI desktops
- Access to specific applications that are not available on the Staff Remote Desktop
- Access to the PIMS workstations within ACES and SBS
- The Remote Filestore Application used by all staff and students to access their homespace whilst outside the University
