On Tuesday we held the annual HWB staff summer event, to say thank you to our staff for their hard work over past year.
Despite a slightly murky start to the day the sun definitely decided to put its hat on for us and gave us a glorious afternoon. Our leafy Collegiate Campus providing us with a perfect backdrop to enjoy some music, drinks, BBQ food and games with our colleagues (without the need for a rain hat!).
The more adventurous /competitive of us could be spotted having a go on the garden darts and croquet – whilst most of us (me included) enjoyed the opportunity to talk to colleagues and catch some rays on the grass.
We found out that one of our own had some hidden talents, and asked Katie Evans from the Planning & Initiatives team if she would kindly do some live singing for us. She did an amazing job (definitely no need for the nerves) and I personally loved Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics!
Our PVC Alison Metcalfe also took the opportunity again to thank all staff for their hard work and dedication to the faculty, before Deputy Dean Toni Schwarz announced our competition winners.
This year the Greedy Greek deli on Sharrowvale and our own SBS training restaurants kindly donated some gift vouchers, as well as having some wine and chocolates on offer.
Rachel Reeder from the HWB student and academic services team managed to most closely guess the sweeties in a jar – although no one managed to get it spot on! Well done Rachel!
Whether you managed to pop down or not – the thank you extends to all our staff. If you have any comments or feedback from the event please forward them to ! HWB Staff Engagement, as this will help us plan anything like this for the future.
