The month of April saw its first visitor tours around the developments of our two new major research centres: the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) and the National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering (NCEFE).
Sheffield Hallam University’s Estates project manager, Christopher Dales, and BAM Construction Ltd project manager, Ian Rainbow, led an insightful guided tour for colleagues and visitors around the exciting developments, which are due for completion in 2019. It gave attendees the opportunity to see the on-going construction works and find out more about how the new centres will contribute to the regeneration of the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park (OLP).
The Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre is set to become the most advanced research centre in the world for developing innovations that will improve population health and physical activity levels, forming the centrepiece of the OLP. It will tackle key health-related issues affecting the nation, undertaking research that will be focused on taking services and products from concept to market.
