Dr David Broom elected by BASES as Physical Activity for Health division chair

 

 

 

 

The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) has elected Dr David Broom to chair its Physical Activity for Health division. In his role, Dr Broom will be influencing and implementing the Association’s national strategy which seeks to raise standards in sport and physical activity – exploring ways in which the principles of sport and exercise science can be applied to improve the quality of life for the entire population.

Dr Broom said: “I feel very privileged to be elected. Sheffield Hallam is a national leader in creating innovative and real-world solutions for tackling today’s health and wellbeing challenges. I can use this expertise by working to improve national standards in physical activity so we can start to address the rise of sedentary lifestyles and issues like obesity.”
