In spring 2017, six Sheffield Hallam students travelled to Tanzania to put what they’ve learned so far on their sport coaching course into practice on a seven-week placement.

Working with young adults and children, the students delivered multi-sports sessions and coached football teams competing in the East Africa Cup.

They also worked with local schools and community groups to support community sport development in Tanzania – passing on their coaching and leadership skills to the coaches of the future.

As well as all this, they also had time to see Tanzania, going on safari and spending time on the beach.

This is just one of the many life-changing placements our students enjoy every year.
