Move More Month is back for 2017 and once again we’d like to encourage you to get active and record your physical activity throughout June to see how many combined minutes the city can record.
Workplaces across Sheffield are being invited to participate in Move More Month, by getting into teams and seeing how many minutes they can clock up during June. This year the workplace challenge is being supported by Yorkshire Cancer Research and will see organisations across the city being pitted against each other to see which has the most physically active staff.
Sheffield Hallam is registered as a competing organisation and you can now create and sign up your team as part of SHU at: https://challenge.movemore.co/organisation/shu.
Teams are limited to 10 people per team, but organisations can enter as many teams as they like, so feel free to ask others to set-up rival teams if your directorate/department is bigger than 10.
If you took part last year, use the same login details. If not, just enter your details as requested. Give your team a name and click ‘create a team’. You’ll receive a link via email which you can use to invite colleagues to join your team. Team captains will also need to join their team in order to select which tracker or app they will use to monitor activity.
For this year’s challenge you can now track your activities through wearable devices (eg. fitbits, strava) or using the Move More Sheffield app (available on Google Play and Apple Store) which will automatically track activity and clock up Move More Minutes.
You will then be able to track your individual and team progress on the Move More website, view a timeline of activities and join other Move More competitions like the Steel City Derby. There are also hundreds of activities to get involved in during June, from rock climbing to walking football, zumba to parkletics – something for everyone.
