Sheffield is well known for being a beautiful place to live and visit, but did you know that it is also the greenest city in Europe?
With that in mind, we thought it’d be a fantastic idea to take a trip to the Peak District and walk around some of the most scenic landscapes that the UK has to offer.
We would recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes, a picnic and waterproof clothes – although it’s the summer, it can sometimes rain!
One of our students will lead the walk, and you will need to meet them at 10am on Sunday 23 July outside the main University entrance. This event is free of charge.
If maths is part of your course and you’re having trouble getting to grips with it, then these sessions are ideal for you!
The Bridge are putting on maths support drop-in sessions during the resit period, so make sure your maths skills are up to date. They’re on the following dates between 11.30am–1.30pm on The Bridge, above the Adsett’s Cafe:
Thursday 6 July
Monday 10 July
Wednesday 12 July
Monday 17 July
For more information on the support that the Bridge offers, check out their website here.
Tramlines is the biggest and best festival in Sheffield, and it’s almost here!
From Friday 21–Sunday 23 July, Sheffield comes alive with a whole range of music and activities spread across the city centre. It’s a fantastic chance to check out some new and local acts, and also catch some bigger established artists on the main stage, including the Libertines and Primal Scream.
Pubs and venues across the city will be putting on nights and events, so keep an eye on the main website to keep up to date with what’s going on.
In order to get into the main stage, you need to buy tickets, which you can get here.
Who needs the Champs-Elysées when we’ve got our own Grand Arrivée on Pinstone Street?
The annual Sheffield Hallam University Grand Prix attracts world-class athletes to Sheffield’s city centre. This July, the Grand Prix is playing host to the HSBC UK National Circuit Championships, a high-tempo evening of criterium racing on Wednesday 19 July.
Come and see some of the best cyclists in the world from 7–9.30pm on Pinstone Street.
Join us on a trip to the fantastic Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, which is the UK’s largest shopping outlet!
This is a great opportunity to visit all of your favourite designer shops and grab some real bargains too – you can explore and browse the wide range of goods at discounted prices.
This trip will be on Saturday 15 July between 8am–6pm, leaving from the main University entrance. Buy your ticket online here.
