International Experience Team’s Andrew Bromley recognised in Queen’s New Year’s Honours

We are very proud to be able to announce that Andrew Bromley from the International Experience Team at Sheffield Hallam University has been named in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list!

The New Year Honours is a part of the British honours system, with New Year’s Day, 1 January, being marked by naming new members of orders of chivalry and recipients of other official honours. A number of other Commonwealth realms also mark this day in this way.

Andrew Bromley has worked in the International Experience Team for ten years now, welcoming students to Sheffield Hallam and making them feel at home in Sheffield. He was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to higher education in recognition of his fantastic work building a sense of community on campus.

Andrew said about his award: “It was a huge surprise to receive this award, I am just doing a job I love every day and to be recognised in this way is incredible.”

From all of us in the International Experience Team, we’d like to congratulate Andrew on his very well deserved award!
