Over the next 4-5 weeks our construction partner BAM will be carrying out Site and Ground Investigation surveys. This will move into the Science Park Car Park in early August where there will be limited parking over this period of time. The purpose of the survey work is to gather information on the ground conditions and types as part of the design process for the development of the new Blocks A, BC & D for Phase 1 of the Campus Plan.
The work started on Monday 20 July and the attached plan (see image below) details areas and timescales for the SI And GI surveys.
Although all of the car parks have been fenced off at present, only Areas 1 & 2 are being worked in and staff can park in the car park behind the Science Park which is being controlled in terms of access by BAM. BAM have also advised that a more formal approach to managing access into the useable car park will in place tomorrow, so a gateman from 5am – 6pm for the duration of the works.
