From Monday 17 August to Wednesday 30 September there will be excavation works in the Charles Street/Arundel Street junction which is planned to be done in 2 phases. Please see the traffic management plan for details on how traffic flow will be controlled in this area.
Phase 1 (approx. 2-3 weeks):
- Setup traffic management
- Excavation in junction
- Pipeline tests and analysis of material requirements
- Temporary back filling and reinstatement
- Remove traffic management
- Order materials
Interlude (approx. 2 weeks)
Phase 2 (approx. 3 weeks)
- Setup traffic management
- Excavation in junction
- Repairs/replacement to pipeline under local DH network shutdown, which will also incorporate replacement of existing valves in alleyway adjacent Cantor Building
- Back filling and reinstatement, including adjacent Cantor
- Remove traffic management and replace footpath widening area
