Until now, the University has used a variety of ways to refer to new buildings as they are being developed, which can sometimes cause confusion. These have included numbers, letters and departmental names. For clarity, we will, from now on, be giving consistent working titles to identify new buildings in advance of final names being determined prior to opening. To reflect the historical significance of the site, celebrate Sheffield’s industrial heritage as a city of makers and reflect our significance as an applied University, these will use the names of job roles from the industrial sector that occupied the City’s cultural industries quarter.
