Instances of staff using the goods entrance and service yard to access Sheaf and EMB during the works has reduced in the last two weeks. Heavy vehicles and lifting equipment will continue to use this area for the foreseeable future, including delivery of steel for the atrium, so the contractor should be informed in advance of any large deliveries or large items being moved out.
The crane that had been sited on Pond Street has been removed and the road is now fully open. Steel installation on the new atrium is well underway, and scaffolding is being erected to support work on the roof decking, which will begin next week. Other areas of the project are continuing well. On EMB level 2 internal walls and partitions are still going up and plastering has begun. Stripping out is ongoing on Sheaf level 1, and preparation carried out for plastering and decorating.
There is continuing water ingress into rooms 4027 and 4028 in Sheaf when heavy rain has been falling. Due to the location of these rooms they will, unfortunately, be vulnerable to leaks until the atrium is completed and the area is made fully watertight. The contractors are doing all they can to mitigate this, and are working swiftly to deal with these leaks as they arise to ensure they cause minimal disruption.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as these works continue.
