Sheffield Hallam University has now appointed Balfour Beatty as the main contractor for its new building on Charles Street. Work on the site, which is situated on the corner of Charles Street and Arundel Gate and includes Brown Lane, will start in the next few weeks.

The project will begin with the closure of the car park currently on the site and as the project progresses, Charles Street, from Eyre Lane to Arundel Gate will also be closed to traffic and parking, as will part of the Science Park car park.

The new building will provide a home for the Sheffield Institute of Education as well as a large amount of post-graduate pool teaching and HUB space and will be complete for the new academic year Autumn 2015. View the animation of our £30m Charles Street development.
