A £3.5 million refurbishment project has begun to provide first class kitchens and facilities for our students on food, hospitality, events and nutrition related courses.

Sheffield Hallam is currently in the top five in terms of food, hospitality and events and this investment shows our commitment to retaining and improving on that position.

The refurbishment taken place on Level 12 of the Owen Building will create purpose designed areas for demonstrating food and food techniques to students and provide privacy for physiological measurements and blood taking for food and nutrition courses.

The new facilities will give students access to equipment that is industry standard to give them a real world experience which enhances their employability and will place us above many of our competitors in terms of facilities.

The project will be completed and ready for use September 2013.
