Sheffield Hallam University’s Race Staff Network launch
12-4pm, Monday 9 July 2018, Sheffield Hallam University, Stoddart Building, City Campus
We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the Race Staff Network. Staff networks like this one are essential to driving forward visible and active promotion of university’s values. It’s open to all staff so please come along to find out what the network aims to achieve, learn from one of the workshops and network with colleagues.
You can expect the following:
- A presentation from Dr Ben Blaisdell, East Carolina University, USA
- Choose from 1 of 3 workshops which will inform the work of Race Staff Network:
a) mental health and race
b) whiteness in the academy
c) intersectionality
- Plenary discussion which will include Muna Abdi, Ben Blaisdell, Manny Madriaga and a speaker to be confirmed
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
