Below is the latest in a series of updates from HROD relating to the commitments made as part of the Hallam Deal. These commitments are reflective of Hallam’s goal to become the world’s leading applied university and demonstrate the environment and culture we want to create for our staff whilst making it clear what is expected in return.
Detailed below are some key pieces of work that have been delivered in support of the deal.
What’s new this month?
Where you work – A great place to work:
- Hallam Leaders Home Site – Building a great university requires great leadership and consistently fair and effective management. The Hallam Leaders Home Site is a new online resource for for leaders, managers and all those interested in leadership development. The Hallam Leaders’ Home Site includes descriptions and case studies of “great leadership”, management toolkits and workshops, mentoring and coaching opportunities, change leadership development, leadership programmes and a range of other resources and tools. If you have any questions please contact Danny Hannah, Leadership and Management Development Manager on ext. 5031.
The opportunity – There will be opportunities for you to achieve your potential:
- Professional Services Career & Development Offer – As part of the implementation of the Professional Services Operating Model (PSOM) we will be introducing the Professional Services Career and Development Offer; which is our commitment to offer better development and career opportunities to people at all levels in Professional Services. For more information on the career and development offer and progress to date please click here. If you have any questions please contact Shauna Vulliamy, Head of Talent Management on ext. 4934.
- Professional Services Performance & Development Review – The University’s new Performance and Development Review (PDR), which replaces all existing professional service appraisal processes across faculties and directorates was launched this week. Using a single process aims to bring a consistent experience for all staff (academic and professional services) across the University. Sheffield Hallam University is a desirable place to pursue a career; our aspiration to become the world’s leading applied University and as such we should offer developmental opportunities for its staff, and set high expectations about performance. As part of the Hallam Deal we want to ensure that you have a meaningful PDR conversation that recognises your achievements and sets clear and appropriate objectives.
