On Friday (20 April), the University will be making a change to the way mobile devices are managed which requires some software to be redeployed to all iPads and iPhones owned by the University.
As part of this, a new Exchange (email) account profile will be created on all SHU-owned iPads and iPhones. If you use a University IOS device, this will happen automatically and you will receive a prompt requiring you to enter your normal SHU password (not your iTunes password) to access your new Exchange account. If you already run Exchange on your iPad or iPhone, this will be a duplicate of the one you are currently running. Running two versions should not cause any problems for most users but, if you have low memory or have enabled an option to save all your emails on your phone or iPad, you may experience some issues. You will not be able to delete the new exchange account yourself but you can contact the IT Service desk who will be able to talk you through removing the old version if necessary.
If you have any questions about this, please contact Dave Wragg in Digital Technology Services.
