Julia Bates from Digital Technology Services is returning to Bosnia again this year during her annual leave to work with the Healing Hands Network, a UK-based charity whose members provide mental, physical and emotional support and therapy to those who are suffering from the after-effects of war in The Balkans.
Below, Julia talks about the treatments she will be carrying out and her funding efforts for travel this year.
“My therapy is Shiatsu but this year I am also attending a course on scar work before I go so that I can help release some of the lack of mobility caused by big scars following amputation and shrapnel wounds.
“My sister and I are raising money to help pay for our travel again this year. All donations gratefully received”
